(Martin & Jenny Schaub)

My old house was sleeping
I left it with a sigh
The road was vague
and winding in the shadows
A hint of hesitation
By the rusty garden gate
But then some steady steps
across the meadow

And I don´t know
how far I have wandered
When suddenly I feel
the scent of sage, thyme,
lavender and roses
From a garden out of time

Walking in a forest
The old stems tall and dark
Solemn like the guards
outside a fortress
My feet keep moving forward
The rustling sound of leaves
Fern and ivy colourless and formless

And I don´t know
how far I have wandered
When suddenly I feel
the scent of sage, thyme,
lavender and roses
From a garden out of time

Birds that sing and days of spring
Children laughing
from some distant swings
Your songs and smile
that´s what I bring,
bring with me and maybe
blue sea and green fields,
the summer all ahead
and full of dreams
Safe arms and love that´s all I keep

My old house was sleeping
I left it with a sigh
The road was vague
and winding in the shadows
